How to Use a Dial Bore Gauge to Measure the Diameter of a Cylinder Liner

Prepare measuring instruments such as a vernier caliper and a micrometer.
Use the vernier caliper to measure the inner diameter of the cylinder liner and lock it in the middle position.
Record the measurement result, for example, 52.15mm.
Round the measurement to the nearest whole number, for example, 53mm.
Calibrate the micrometer and set it to the rounded measurement, in this case, 53mm.
Lock the micrometer in place.
Use the dial bore gauge to measure the diameter of the cylinder liner.
Set the gauge to the rounded measurement, for example, 53mm.
Use the appropriate size stem, in this case, 3mm.
Proceed with measuring the cylinder liner.

Place the device at the back and behind the item being measured.
Loosen the lock on the dial and insert it into the device.
Choose the appropriate size for the measurement and lock it in place.
Ensure the small needle is at 0 on the gauge before inserting it.
Calibrate the needle using the micrometer and set it to zero.
Take measurements on the cylinder, noting the diameter and height.
Use the wheel to move the device and find the falling and rising needle frequencies.
Compare the measurements taken with a caliper to verify accuracy.

Add the result obtained previously.
The needle will move to the right of zero, causing the result to be reduced.
Calculate the diameter using X1 at the top, X2 in the middle, and X3 at the bottom.
Position the piston by turning it on.
Measure J1 J2 towards the middle and Y3 at the bottom.
Note the highest peak where the needle falls and the position of the small needle at the bottom.
