  2. Google Sign-In and Data Usage

    Our application, Afterword, will request access to Google user data if you use Google Sign-In.

    We only request essential information for account creation and user identification:

    • Email address
    • Name
    • Profile picture

    Why are we requesting this data?

    • Email for account creation and recovery
    • Name for personalized user interaction
    • Profile picture for visual confirmation so that the user can quickly know which account they are logged in with

    If there are any changes or additions to the types of user data we request, we will update our privacy policy accordingly and seek your consent before accessing the new data.

  3. Browser Extension

    To summarize content which is visible to you only if you are signed into another website or a paywall that you pay for, our browser extension will read the contents of the current web page and send this data to our servers for processing. This action will only be performed when you explicitly click on the extension while on the aformentioned web page.

    When you select any text, right click and choose Afterword > Send to hyperdocs, the selected text, url of the current web page, it's title and favicon details will be sent to our server so that we can retain and display this information in the hyperdoc. This is because the purpose of the hyperdoc is to automatically remember the source of the text.

  4. How We Use Your Information

    We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:
